A Legacy of Flavor

The Sacred
Bolivian

Salteña.

Three generations of family recipes, hand-crimped and slow-baked each morning. The same soul you'd find in a market stall in La Paz — now waiting for you across the DMV.

Today At Market

Baked at dawn.

Sold until they're gone — usually by early afternoon.

What makes it special?

The jigote — a savory stew that liquefies inside the dough as it bakes, creating a signature broth.

What is a Salteña?

Anatomy of a delicacy.

Born in the highlands of Bolivia, the salteña isn't quite an empanada. It's an eating ritual — hand-held, upright, and always served warm from the oven.

The Sweet Dough

A lightly sweetened, sun-yellow crust that plays counterpoint to the savory interior.

The Simpado

The hand-braided crimp that seals the top — part handle, part signature, part art.

The Broth

Ají panca, cumin and slow-cooked jigote melt into a rich caldo you sip through the crust.

Get to Know Us

A Grandmother's Kitchen, Carried Across The Andes.

Andean Delights began as a tribute to our Bolivian grandmother, whose kitchen taught us that tradition, patience and the right pinch of ají are what make a meal a memory.

Every salteña we sell is folded by hand, using her recipe. It is more than a pastry: it is her table, her hands, her stories — shared with our new neighbors here in the DMV.
